The Pet Portrait

I started doing pet portraits when my dear girl Pippin had been put down. I found it to be therapeutic as I watched the image of my four footed friend emerge on the paper. Since that time, I've been commissioned to do numerous pet portraits. A good photo and little history of quirks and habits is all I need for rendering a furry or feathered friends image. It's also something I encourage my students to draw. Who doesn't like animals?
